Causes:

  • Over application of product (rolling too rapidly)
  • Finish coat was applied over an unprimed, porous surface
  • Wrong roller cover nap length

RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS

  • Sand any rough patches before painting to eliminate texture that can trap air
  • Avoid excessive or fast rolling
  • Apply in a gentle, controlled W-pattern and back-roll lightly
  • Prime first, especially over porous or bare surfaces, to prevent the finish coat from soaking in unevely
  • Stir paint gently — do not shake, as this introduces bubbles into the can

RECOMMENDED APPLICATORS

Roller: Use a high-quality microfiber or woven roller, 3/8" nap for smooth walls or 1/2" nap for light texture. Avoid cheap foam rollers as they’re prone to trapping air.

Brush: Look for high-quality, synthetic, bristled, angled brushes for cutting in and edges. Avoid budget brushes that leave streaks or don’t hold enough paint.
