RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS
- Before painting, thoroughly clean all surfaces. Use a commercial mildew remover following manufacturer’s safety instructions.
- Rinse the area well with clean water and allow the surface to dry completely before applying primer or paint.
- For areas with consistent moisture exposure, consider upgrading the finish to satin or semi-gloss, which resists moisture better than flat finishes.
- If the area is prone to recurring mildew, use Valspar® Stain-Blocking Bonding Primer/Sealer before applying your topcoat for added protection.
