- Improper surface preparation before painting

RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS
- Identify and correct any moisture source (leaks, gaps, poor ventilation) before repainting.
- Scrape off all loose or peeling paint with a paint scraper or wire brush.
Sand edges smooth to feather transitions between bare areas and remaining paint. - Wash the surface to remove dirt, chalk and mildew.
- Apply one or two even coats of a recommended Valspar® exterior paint, following the spread rate and dry time instructions on the label.
